Improve parametric part search by sorting numbers as numbers (in lists), not sorting as text.
I've just tried to find a very high brightness, narrow angle RED LED using parametric search. I thought it would be very straightforward. Optoelectronics->Visible LED. Select 'Viewing angle'. That was easy. Try to select RED. That was harder, because RED appears in many labels, 'Ultra red' 'Super red', which wasn't very helpful. I wanted any/all REDs. Then I went for Luminous intensity. I expected a sliding range like angle. But no, it's a list of values. Worse, they are sorted as if they are words, and not decimal numbers! So they are sorted by first digit, then by next digit.…

Enable to type in the desired quantity
When a new list is created, in the field "Paste a list or add part numbers manually", besides pasting the part number, it would very helpful if we could also paste the desired quantity.

Remember Export Preferences or change default preferences
Allow users to save their exported columns, or update default columns to include crucial information like what the price is and who it is coming from (as well as lead time, stock, and life cycle code). See image for reference

Thanks for this request – we do plan to implement this ability and it is on the roadmap!

With BOM export, include "original part number" column by default.
Please include the original part number column by default, 9/10 times this information is absolutely necessary.

End of Life Notification
Notification summary for End of life

Thanks for this request. We don’t receive specific End of Life data from our partners. However, we do get some lifecycle information around whether a part is inactive or active, obsolete, etc. This information is available on the Part Intelligence page and will soon be available in the Custom Export.

Delete Lists
I would like to be able to delete lists easier, right from the list of lists.

Hi, this is a great suggestion! This has been added to our roadmap.

Optional minimal Report view
An option for a more summarized view (similar to Octopart) would be nice for those using the site for large volumes of serial searching (my most common use of this site over multiple jobs has required a significant number of 'serial' searching).
I don't know how much it would help others, but it would help me complete my tasks much more quickly.

Buying more than one record at once.
When you have more that 1 record from the same distributor (i.e. Mouser) on the list, there should be an option to buy all records from this distributor by 1 button click. So, when redirected to the distributor site, there should be all the records in the shopping cart.

Make a Findchips Internet Explorer accelerator add-in
I would LOVE to be able to highlight a part number on a webpage, right-click on it to open an Internet Explorer context menu, then choose "Find inventory using Findchips", rather than Control-C to copy the part number, open a new tab, navigate to Findchips.com, then paste in the part number and click Find.

Expand "see more" by default
To get high quantity prices, I have to click "See more" on every single thing. Why not just expand this by default?

Wildcards would be very helpful
When shopping for parts it is very helpful to be able to wildcard certain characters in a part number. For example in one of our internal browser-based search tools, we can use % to wildcard a range of characters or ? for a single char.
Examples:
CY62148EV30LL-%SXIT will return the following:
CY62148EV30LL-45ZSXIT
CY62148DV30LL-70ZSXIT
CY62148EV30LL-55SXITCY62148?V30LL will return the following:
CY62148EV30LL-45ZSXIT
CY62148DV30LL-70ZSXIT
CY62148EV30LL-55SXITImplementing even just one of these 2 wildcard features would be a major help for us. Thanks for your excellent service, I use it almost every day!

Send notification when distibutor has inventory for item
re: Notifications
I'm a buyer at a contract manufacturer. I would like to be notified when a distributor has inventory on a specific item. You should allow customer to maintain a list of items of interest and be notified via email when anyone has stock. Better yet - let us specify the distributors we want to track stock for this item through. My company tries to work with a limited set of distributors (Avnet, Arrow, TTI, etc..)

Great idea. This is an item that we’ve had several internal conversations on. We’ll keep you posted on when something like this may become available from Supplyframe!
